Guidelines for Safe Indoor In-Person Worship at UCV

Here is what to expect when you arrive at church on Sunday

Before worship on Sundays, we will disinfect all high-touch surfaces. Both the front and rear doors will remain open to enhance good air circulation.
Parking there is parking both behind and in front of the building as well as on the street. Since there is no designated Handicapped parking, please save the spots directly in front for those who need easy access.

When you enter
Everyone will be asked the “covid questions” each time (Have you or anyone in your household had any of the following symptoms in the last 21 days: sore throat, cough, chills, body aches for unknown reasons, shortness of breath for unknown reasons, loss of smell and/or taste, fever or greater than 100 degrees F”. before you are signed in. Whether you have already been vaccinated or not, please wear masks, frequently use hand sanitizers, maintain social distancing and avoid hugging.(or,”no hugging”)

Name Tags If you have a magnetic name tag, there is a board just inside the door where it can now be safely kept, so when you arrive you can easily find yours. And, don’t forget to leave your nametag on the board when you exit. Let Deb know if you need a new one. Name tags are available for visitors.
In Worship When you enter the sanctuary, you are invited to move chairs together to accommodate the size of your family group while maintaining social distance with those around you. There are a small number of arm chairs available for those who need them. Feel free to move those chairs as well. An usher will be available to assist.
Bulletins will be on-screen. A limited number of large print paper bulletins will be available from ushers.
Communion both vegan and non-vegan options will be provided in individual pre-packaged containers. If you have brought your own beverage, please use that. There will also be small pre-packaged juice cups.

No coffee Hour at this time. (you may bring your own beverage in closed containers). We invite you to socialize in the parking lot or socially-distanced in the sanctuary.
Offering will not be passed during the service, but the collection plate will remain on the communion table before and after worship to place your offerings (you can still make your offerings on our website).

No Congregational Singing at this time (we continue to monitor advice from CDC & other reliable sources)

Weekly Jobs For those attending worship in the sanctuary, there are several jobs that need to be filled each week. There will be a sign up sheet available. For simplicity, if at all possible, we encourage folks to perhaps commit to the job for a month at a time. The following jobs will need to be filled each week:
Set up (doesn’t involve heavy lifting!), Greeter, Usher, and Lay Leader (can be In Person or Online). Darcie Dunlop and Lee Eddy will initially serve as our Tech staff, but we are eager to train others who might be interested in learning. If you know of any teenagers who would like to help, we’d welcome them!
